Preparing for College

To prepare for college, you should create your action plan, and get a solid and broad academic education.

• Use a College Preparation Checklist.
• Take courses recommended for college-bound students
• Take the advanced placement courses and exams
• If interested in pursuing a technical program, substitute some electives with technical courses in your field of interest.
• Make sure that all courses meet high standards
• Take the Standardized tests that many colleges require i.e. SAT or ACT
• Explore and do lots of independent reading and studying
• Participate in extracurricular activities, work experience and community service
• Remember: Leadership is better than membership
